This is Victoria Building, a project by Asti Architetti, which redesigns, in a modern key, the early 20th-century (probably 1920s) building where “Il Sole 24 Ore” and the Cepu headquarters, among others, were located The two-level high art-deco stone plinth will be preserved, and three floors will be added with a modern, eye-catching structure that integrates perfectly with the remaining building.
More than 7,000 square meters of office and retail space suitable for high-density single- and multi-tenant scenarios, including numerous ancillary spaces, facilities and common areas in the inner courtyard. Significant use of wood was made in the construction of the top floors, and the result is truly remarkable. Of particular note is the rehabilitation of the shed building that occupies the courtyard. The structure has been preserved and enhanced by the use of glass, which will actually turn it into a huge “lantern.” The courtyard itself will then become an integral part of the project, and the design of the staircase is made so that the latter can be used like the bleachers of an outdoor theater
