Following the 2009 earthquake events, seismic retrofitting of the strategic building and partial reconstruction of the last two floors that were severely damaged became necessary. Anti-seismic devices were placed on the existing basement floor along with appropriate energy dissipation devices. The top two floors were built with REP truss beams supplied by Tecnostrutture and semiprefabricated floor elements. The design was carried out by the Calvi firm, and a functional architectural design was drawn up at the bidding stage to take advantage of the maximum technical score offered by the tender.
